Alpaca fiber is naturally resistant to odors and stains, and does not need to be washed very often, but it still requires special gentle care. Hand washing in lukewarm water with a soap made for protein fiber, such as Eucalan Wool Wash, Unicorn Fibre Wash, or Soak Wash, is recommended. Extra bonus with both Eucalan Wool Wash and Soak Wash, they don't need to be rinsed out. All natural fiber soaps are environmentally friendly and sustainable as well. After washing squeeze your garment between flat palms, DO NOT WRING OR TWIST your garment,this can damage the fibers. Squeeze as much water as possible out of your garment. There are 2 methods for drying, the easiest is to put your garment in a spin dryer. You can also roll your garment in a dry towel, pressing as you go to get as much of the remaining water out aas possible. Then lay your garment flat on a new dry towel to finish air drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals, especially detergents with enzymes that break down protein, or excessive heat and agitation (it causes felting and shrinking of the fibers), as this can damage natural protein fiber.
